Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Austria - Österreichische Gemeindewappen |
NAAS
State : Steiermark
District : Weiz
Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on May 8, 1989.
The arms show the crayfish arms of the knights von Sturmberg. They were the keepers of a watch-tower guarding the road to the valley where the municipality is situated. The lines of partition are fashioned after sprigs of fir to show the deep conifer woods.
