Origin/meaning
The arms of Bishop of Denver, show the Holy Cross Mountain as a symbol for Colorado, and a star for the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception. The personal arms show a cup with a snake fro St. John the Evangelist, and a crown for Saint Henry, both baptismal saints of the bishop. The bend with two crosses refer to the sees of Lincoln and Denver where he served.
