Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted in 1973.
The arms show the local Tellskapelle and the lake in the base. The chapel already appeared on the local seals from the 19th century. However, in 1925 the local council adopted arms based on the arms of the Schick family, as the famous Arnold Schick originated from Sisikon. He lead the people of Uri in the battle of St. Jakob in 1444. These arms were used until 1972, see image below.
