PUDASJÄRVI
Region : Pohjois-Pohjanmaa
Former province : until 2009 Oulu
Official blazon
Kultakentässä musta, kävelevä, punavaruksinen karhu, jonka yläpuolella musta, kuusikoroinen lakio, jossa Otavan seitsentähtinen tähtikuvio; kukin tähti kultaa, viisisakarainen.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 26, 1950.
The arms show a bear and the constellation of the Great Dipper. Both are taken from the historical seal of the village. The meaning is not clear. The division line refers to the importance of forestry for the municipality.
