Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 23, 1792 and regranted on March 29, 1994.
The arms with St. Anthony and infant Jesus are probably related with the name of Antanas Perkovskis, who obtained town rights for Maisiagala from King Stanislaus August; also this is the name of the then bailiff Antanas Gruzevskis and of the mayor Antanas Stravinskis.
In the early 20th century another variant with a blue field and standing saint was used.
