Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1950 to the Clydesdale and North of Scotland Bank. The bank was renamed to Clydesdale Bank again in 1963 and the arms were re-matriculated to the new name.
The old Clydesdale Bank had already received arms in 1948, before the 1950 merger.
