SEAFORTH HIGHLANDERS (ROSS-SHIRE BUFFS, THE DUKE OF ALBANY'S), BRITISH ARMY
History: in 1778 as the 78th Highland Regiment (in 1786 72nd Highland Regiment) and in 1793 as the 78th Highland Regiment. In 1881 these two Regiments become the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the Seaforth Highlanders (Ross-shire Buff, The Duke of Albany's). In 1961 amalgamated with The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, British Army to form The Queen's Own Highlanders (Seaforth and Camerons), British Army.
