I have no information on these arms. Any information is welcome !
The oldest known arms for 'Altbüren' can be seen on a map from around 1600. It shows a green chevron, with the point ending in a linden leaf. The upper part is silver, the lower red. The meaning of these arms is not known. At the end of the 18th century the linden point had been changed to a trefoil/clover and a mountain in base had appeared. The latter probably is taken from the arms of the Lords of Grünenberg ('green-mountain'), who ruled the area at the time. The arms have not changed since.
