Vert a chevron between three smith’s hammers argent, on a chief azure an etoile of the second.
Origin/meaning
These are the arms of Smithfield differenced by a chief charged with a 'north' star. Although the blazon has the chevron and star of silver, the arms seem to have been used only with a golden chevron and star.
