The three mountains refer to the three largest mountains (Hoher Frassen, Rote Wand and Kellerspitze) as well as to the three villages (Litze-Plazera, Marul and Raggal) in the municipality. The miner's tools refer to the former mining as well as the name of the villae; Raggal can be derived from roden, or clearing forest.
