The five Clouds alludes to the five Pilots from No 880 Squadron that come over when No 899 Squadron was formed. The Winged Gauntlet symbolises serving in [[HMS Indomitable, Royal Navy]] whose Badge includes a gauntlet. The Badge was approved on 1 September 1943.

Origin/meaning
