Official blazon

Arms: Azure an Oak Tree fructed and eradicated Or on a Chief lozengy Argent and Sable tree Garbs of the second.
Crest: On a Wreath of the Colours issuant from a Mural Crown Or in front of two Arrows in saltire points downwards a Torch Sable enflamed proper.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ??

The oak tree alludes to the arms of Nottinghamshire as well as the Sherwood Forest in the council.

The chief consists of a pattern of silver and black diamonds and refers to the coal mining. The garbs symbolises agriculture.

The crest shows a torch as a symbol for the industry. The two arrows are taken from the old arms of Arnold and allude to the Sherwood connection.

The stag supporter is taken from the arms of Nottingahmshire. The bear supporter is taken from the unofficial device formerly used by Basford.
