German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 22, 1975.
The three diamonds in the chief are taken from the arms of Urban von Trenbach, Birshop of Passau from 1561-1598. The area belonged from 1227-1803 to the State of Passau. The diamonds also refer to the Lords of Pirching, who had their estate in the municipality.
The star refers to a miracle on 1755 when a large red star with four rays was seen in the sky from the village. The wavy point refers to the local spring, which is used as a health spa.
Literature : Baumert, H.E. : Oberösterreichische Gemeindewappen, Linz, 1996.
