Official blazon
Gedeeld 1. in zilver een zwaard van keel, bovenaan vergezeld van twee schildjes, rechts in goud een dubbele adelaar van sabel, getongd, gebekt en gepoot van keel, links in goud een leeuw van sabel, geklauwd en getongd van keel 2. in goud een hartschild van keel.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 1, 1985.
The arms combine the two historical territoeries to which the municipality belonged instead of a combination of the arms of the former municipalities.
The sword and shields are the arms of the Land van Aalst, the red shield in gold are the arms of the Land van Boelare.
