DAIA

District/county (județ) : Giurgiu

Stema Daia

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 3, 2015.

The sunflower refers to the main occupation of the inhabitants, agriculture.

The bird of prey and the snake represent the symbol of the old name of the locality, documented under the name "Șerpătești", by the deed of donation of the great voivode Mihai Viteazul to the boyar Ivan and his sons (Târgoviște, November 12, 1595).

The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.}
