Origin/meaning
The arms show traditional symbols of the tanners' craft, two bucks for providing skins, and by the (oak ?)-bush that yielded the other material for tanning (tanbark). The name derives from the tanners (Gärber) who had their workshops out of town near the river because of the stench and their need for water.
