TERRE DEL RENO

Region : Emilia-Romagna
Province : Ferrara
Additions : 2017 Mirabello, Sant'Agostino

Stemma di Terre del Reno/Arms (crest) of Terre del Reno
Official blazon
Italian blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ?

The river Reno is symbolized by a silver-blue wavy bend. The oaks are a common tree in the region. The two stars are the symbol of the two inhabited villages of Mirabello and Sant’Agostino. The whole composition has "dual" symbolism: two stars, two branches, two pairs of branches etc. to symbolise the joining of the two previous communities. The colors of the emblem, green, white and blue, evoke the verdant and fluvial environment of the territory.

The arms were chosen out of a set of three proposals. The other two proposals are shown below.

First proposal:

This proposal uses the shape and heraldic elements taken from the two previous coats of arms. Its geometric arrangement has been recovered from the coat of arms of Mirabelloand the classical allegorical personification of the river Reno in the form of a man from Sant'Agostino. The symbolism of the oak and stars is similar to the final arms shown above.

Second proposal:

In this proposal the same elements are used as in the final arms, but now with a single oak tree.
