Origin/meaning
The Chevron partition symbolises the mountainous areas of Okinawa and Fort Lewis, where the Unit served. The Dragon and Shells symbolises the Mission to Combat Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). The Shell with green bands symbolises chemical agent filled Munitions, and the unmarked one unknown threats. The Dragon and Shells was also a feature of the Insignia of the 1st Gas Regiment. The Stars symbolises the five campaign credits for operations in World War II, as the 33rd Chemical Company. They also symbolises the current Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High-yield Explosive (CBRNE) response.
The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia, was both approved on 28 March 2006.
