Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1954.
The village was first mentioned in 1170 as a possession of the Kuenring dynasty. The arms of the dynasty are shown in the (heraldic) right half of the municipal arms. The other half shows a local monument indicating the (lower) court in the municipality.
