Official blazon
French Blazon wanted
English Badge: Gules a demi sun in splendour Or issuant in base charged with an island Vert to the sinister an oak tree fructed to the dexter thereof three oak saplings sprouting all proper the island rising out of barry wavy Or and Gules.

Origin/meaning

The sun and the wavy bars recall summer and waves, thus alluding to the ship’s name. The island and the oak trees are found in the arms of Prince Edward Island, where the city of Summerside is located.

The badge was approved by The Canadian Heraldic Authority on September 1, 1997.
