Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1987.

The arms are a combination of the leaf taken from the old Svedala arms and the colours of the arms of Bara. The three leaves are placed in the same composition as the crowns in the Swedish national arms.

The city of Svedala used previously the arms shown below:

Coat of arms (crest) of Svedala

Official blason
I fält av guld ett blått naverlönnblad, omgivet av en röd kuggkrans.

These arms were officially granted in February 19, 1960.
The arms combine the leaf for nature and agriculture, with a cogwheel for industry.

Literature: Nevéus and de Waern, 1992
