Origin/meaning

The arms signify the Djerdap dam built in 1958 in co-operation with Romania and was the third largest hydroelectric power station at the time. The waves signify the river Danube. I have no information on the arrows.

In the old arms the symbolism was principally the same. here the green landscape signifies the Carpatian mountains and the surrounding valleys. The red star means that this was designed after the second world war when the Communists were on power.

The previous arms of Kladovo had the same basic composition, but in a rather different design.
