Origin/meaning
Commemorates Vice Admiral Henry Vansittart (1777-1843) who bore no Arms. The Badge is thus based on the arms of the Rt.Hon. Nicholas Vansittart, Baron Bexley. His Motto is also shown, it translates as "Rest is pleasant when deserved". The Badge was approved in 1919.
