Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1948. The Millstone symbolises the Important Milling Industry, which once produced 1/4 of all Flour used in Sweden.
When the Two armorial units the Borough of Saltsjöbaden and the Boo Rural Municipality was incorporated in 1971, there was som argument as to which Arms the "new" Nacka should use.
Especially the Saltsjöbaden Arms was popular, but in the End it was decided that the arms of the Largest and Namegiving Nacka, should be adopted without changes.
