Operations: Trained B-24 bomber crews in US, April-October 1943. Between 13 December 1943 and 25 April 1945, flew bombing missions from England against targets in Germany and German-occupied Europe. From 1952-1957, trained for fighter-bomber operations. Conducted flying training for airlift missions, 1957-1965. Recalled to active duty during Cuban missile crisis, October-November 1962, during which the squadron airlifted US Army troops and equipment to various parts of the nation.
