METTET
Province : Namur
Additions: 1977 Biesme, Biesmerée, Ermeton-sur-Biert, Furnaux, Graux, Oret, Saint-Gérard, Stave
Official blazon
De sinople à deux crosses, la hampe écourtée, posées en barre et affrontées, la première renversée, accompagnées au premier canton d'une merlette, le tout d'argent.
Origin/meaning
The two crosiers in the arms refer to the Diocese of Liège and the Abbey of Saint-Gérard de Brogne, as both had large possessions in the municipality.
The merle is taken from the arms of the Abbey of Aulne, which also played an important role in the history of the area.
