The arms show a pine tree on a mountain, symbol for the forested mountains surrounding the village. The symbol is already seen as symbol for the village in 1679. Ever since the arms of the village have shown the same composition, however, the colours have changed regularly during the centuries.
The six pine cones also may refer to the six most important families in the village; Enzler, Hürlimann, Müller, Röllin, Roth and Rust.
