Origin/meaning

The Provincial Arms of Gotland with the Sword behind the shield indicating a Joint Defence Forces Unit. Approved in 1995 for the Gotland Military Command Staff, which in 2000 become the Gotland Military District Staff which was disbanded in 2004.
