LIERNEUX
Province: Liège
Additions: 1977 Arbrefontaine, Bra
Official blazon
D'argent à la croix de saint-André de gueules, à un loup passant de sable, baté, les paniers remplis de pierres au naturel, brochant sur le tout.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 18, 1991.
The arms combine the cross of St. Andrew with the wolf of Stavelot. The wolf has been the symbol of the Abbey and Principality of Stavelot(-Malmédy), to which the village of Bra historically belonged. The wolf was also part of the arms of Bra. The cross is taken from the old seal of Lierneux from the early 18th century.
