WILLIAM ANDREW HART
Born: September 9, 1904
Deceased: October 18, 1992
Bishop of Dunkeld, 1955-1981
English | blazon wanted |
Per fess Argent and Gules in chief a stag courant guardant Gules having between his attires a passion cross Sable and in base three lilies slipped their stems conjoined Argent.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially registered in 1955.
The upper part shows a deer of St. Hubertus. The deer (hart) is also a canting element. The three lilies in base allude to the pot of lilies in the arms of the City of Dundee where St. Andrew's R.C. Cathedral is located.
