EDWARD DANIEL HOWARD
Born: November 5, 1877
Deceased: January 2, 1983
Auxiliary Bishop of Davenport, 1931-1937
Archbishop of Oregon City, 1926-1928
Archbishop of Portland in Oregon, 1928-1966
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
As common in US episcopal heraldry, the arms show the arms of the diocese impaled with the personal arms of the bishop.
The arms are based on the arms of an English Howard family to symbolise the family name of the archbishop. To differentiate the family arms the colours and the shape of the crosses have been altered.
The achievement is completed with the heraldic insignia of a prelate of the rank of Archbishop.
