Deceased: June 20, 1932
Abbot of Metten, 1898-1905
Bishop of Eichstätt, 1905-1932
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The crozier in I and IV is taken from the arms of the diocese. The cross on a hill in II and III is taken from the arms of the Abbey of Monte Casino and is used as a symbol for the Benedictan Order, to which the bishop belonged. The background is taken from the arms of Rohrbach, the birthplace of the bishop.
