The oldest coat of arms of Bex appears on one of the bells of the church dated 1641. These arms were divided into two colors (possibly blue and white, the colors of Bex), with a capital B placed on the whole. The second use of the letter B dates from a communion dish, undated, dating back to the first quarter of the 18th century. The letter B obviously was the town's initial. | |||

In the early 20th century the current arms were first used. They are probably based on a misinterpretation of the arms of Girold de Bex. Girold de Bex built the castle of Bex and founded the village near the church of St-Clément in the second half of the 12th century. Their seals show a lion and a small star. Probably the lion was interpreted as a ram at the time, or deliberately the ram was taken from the previous arms and replaced the lion.
