Gleichenberg is a very idyllic place, a small town with a large park and hotels which in some cases have been here for nearly 200 years.
The new arms show the same symbolism as the old arms, but with the addition of two blackthorn branches for the Steinbruch Klausen natural reserve. The buckthorn historically is also used as a medicinal plant, which again refers to the spa.

Wappen von Bad Gleichenberg/Arms (crest) of Bad Gleichenberg

Bad Gleichenberg is situated at the foot of some hills known as the Gleichenberge (the equal / identical mountains), namely the two former volcanoes the Gleichenberger Kogel and the Bschaidkogel. Its beneficient waters (Bad means spa) have been used since Roman times. Thus, a pitcher of Roman form and a representation of the hills and the fountains were put into the arms.

The new arms were granted on June 30, 2022.

The new arms show the same symbolism as the old arms, but with the addition of two blackthorn branches for the Steinbruch Klausen natural reserve. The buckthorn historically is also used as a medicinal plant, which again refers to the spa.
