In 1903 arms were proposed for the village. The arms showed the arms of the Counts of Fürstenberg (see [[Dittishausen]]), with in the middle a wavy bar and water mill wheel. The village belonged for many centuries to Fürstenberg and the river and wheel indicate the importance of the water mills in earlier centuries.
