The arms were officially granted on February 22, 1989.
 
The two crossed keys are the symbol of the Cathedral Chapter of Trier, to which the village historically belonged. The base refers to a Roman villa found here in 1903, the faceade of which is now in the State Museum of Trier. The green colour refers to the agricultural character of the municipality.
