The arms show the cross of the [[State of Trier]], to which the largest part of the municipality historically belonged. The red tower symbolises the arms of [[Welschbillig]], and is taken from the 14th century seal of the town. It has three battlements, one for each of the former Verbandsgemeinden that merged in 1970. | |||
