History: First formed in 1944 as an Air Training Squadron at  Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) St. Merryn (HMS Curlew), Cornwall until 1945. Reformed at RNAS Fearn (HMS Owl), Ross-shire, Scotland in 1946 as a Strike Training Squadron with Barracudas. disbanded into No 819 Squadron in 1961 with Wessex Helicopters.
