History: First formed in 1943 at Naval Air Station Quonset Point, Rhode Island, USA as a Fighter Squadron. Disbanded into Nos 1830 and 1833 Squadrons. Reformed 1944 at Naval Air Station Brunswick, Maine, USA and desbanded in 1946. It become between 1947-1957 a Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve Squadron at Royal Naval Air Station Stretton (HMS Blackcap), Warrington. Reformed 1980 as a Royal Naval Reserve Squadron, dibanding in 1981.
