ROMBAS

Département : Moselle

Blason de Rombas

Official blason

  • (fr) D'azur à l'épée basse d'argent garnie d'or, accostée de deux bars adossés d'or, accompagnés en flancs de deux croisettes recroisetées au pied fiché du même.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on April 25, 1957.

The two salmon and the two crosses are derived from the old Duchy of Bar, to which the city historically belonged. The sword is the symbol of St. Paul, patron saint of the abbey of St. Paul in Verdun, which held the patronage over the local parish.
