I blått en gull valmueplante. Origin/meaningThe arms were granted on December 7, 1984. The arms show a yellow poppy plant (Papaver radicatum subglobosum). The village is near the largest glacier in Norway, the Svartisen (black ice), and the plant is one of the plant growing closest to the ice. The colours symbolise the blue glacial ice and the yellow flowers.
