JOHANN PETER VON RICHARZ
Born : May 23, 1783
Deceased : July 2, 1855
Bishop of Speyer, 1835-1836
Bishop of Augsburg, 1836-1855
Official blazon
- (de) In Rot eine eingeschweifte blaue Spitze, darin ein silberner Reitersäbel; vorne ein silbernes Buch; hinten auf einem Neun berg ein silberner Hahn.
Origin/meaning
The book refers to his former profession as teacher at the university in Würzburg. The meaning of the rooster is not clear, it may be a symbol of vigilance. The sword refers to his father, who was a Corporal in the Husar regiment of the Archbishops of Würzburg.
