KLEINSÖLK

State : Steiermark
District : Liezen
Incorporated into : 2015 Sölk

Wappen von Kleinsölk

Official blazon

In schwarz über drei silbernen Ahornblättern ein springender silberner Hirsch, unterlegt von einem silbernen Lilienstab.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 2, 1987.

In the Middle Ages, what is now the Kleinsölk municipality belonged to the office of the Marschall von Steiermark, the Lord Marshal of Styria. So, the first seal of the Marshal (13th century) was used as a model for the arms. The panther of Styria was replaced by a stag and maple leaves were added (in lieu of the medieval Seeblätter of the von Wildon family), because Kleinsölk is now a forest preserve. The marshal's rod of office was adorned with a fleur-de-lis in honour of Our Lady.
