Escudo de azul, duas espigas de trigo de ouro, postas em pala e alinhadas em faixa, entre uma estrela de oito pontas de prata, em chefe e uma mitra de ouro, realçada e forrada de vermelho em campanha. Coroa mural de prata de quatro torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas: “ ENXARA DO BISPO “.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 5, 1997.
The wheat ears are a symbol for the Festival of the Relief or the Lady of the Snows, which takes place on August 5, where a huge crowd of devotees to pay their promises with wheat.
The star is the symbol of Our Lady of the Assumption, patron saint of the parish.
The mitre, as a symbol for a bishop, is a canting symbol. The blue colour refers to the fresh air in the area.
