Origin/meaning
The deer refers to the forests in the municipaliuty. The meaning of the flames I do not know. The wheatear is a symbol for the agricultural character of the village.
The crest shows a raven holding a bread roll. This is taken from the arms of the Order of Saint Paul the First Hermit (Pauline Monks), used in the arms of George Martinuzzi, Archbishop of Esztergom in 1551. He was the prior of the Pauline monastery in Sajólád in the beginning of his career. The palm leaf also refers to him as a priest.
