English Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: A blue disc surrounded by an orange 1/2 inch (.50 cm) designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border and inscribed “EASTSIDE” on the top left side and “HIGH SCHOOL” centered on the bottom in blue letters. Issuing overall from the blue disc base a white ghost detailed blue. The overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of an orange base charged at its top with a silver demi-sun radiant to base and issuant therefrom on a blue background two demi-ghosts endorsed, between and below a white star, the dexter displaying his dexter fist surmounting the sinister displaying his sinister fist. Attached below a silver scroll inscribed “MIGHTY GHOSTS” in blue letters.

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Blue, orange and white are the school colors and the ghost is the school mascot.

Shoulder Loop Insignia: Blue, orange and white are the school colors. The ghost is the school mascot. The sun burst on an orange field alludes to day and the blue background suggests night; together they symbolize the cadets’ twenty-four hour dedication to school, community and country. The star denotes the cadets’ efforts for excellence in all endeavors.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia was approved on 2 March 1999. The Shoulder Loop Insignia was approved on 21 April 1999.
