BERTRAM JOHANNES MEIER

Born : July 20, 1960
Deceased :

Bishop of Augsburg, 2019-present

Arms of Bertram Johannes Meier

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The divided shield is the arms of the Diocese of Augsburg. The book is the Bible and the three stalks of wheat indicate the Holy Trinity derived from the Bible. The wheat ears also refer to Johann Michael von Sailer, bishop of Regensburg, on whose works Bishop Meier did his doctoral thesis.

The motto refers to his work to preach the message of the religion.
