Slovak | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The town developed in the 12th century, in the neighborhood of silver and iron-ore deposits. It is not known when the town received city rights and whether it had its own seal. The current arms are known since 1781, when they were placed on the town hall. The arms indicate the mining and processing of the ores.
