Blason de Chavanac/Arms (crest) of Chavanac
Official blazon
French D'or à la dansarelle (statue de Salomé, avec la tête de saint Jean-Baptiste) au naturel.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on June 6, 1985.

The arms show the famous statue La Dansarelle from the 15th century, which is placed in the local church. It shows Salomé holding a platter with the head of St. John Baptist (the local patron saint). In the arms she is dressed in a local costume.
