LAHN (HÜMMLING)

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Emsland
Samtgemeinde : Samtgemeinde Werlte

Wappen von Lahn (Hümmling)/Arms (crest) of Lahn (Hümmling)
Official blazon
German

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ??-??-????.

The arms are based on the arms of the Corvey Abbey, which ruled the Hümmling region in which the municipality is situated (a divided shield of red and gold). The lower half shows a megalithic grave in the municipality, one of the many that can be found in the Hümmling. The upper part shows three oakleaves, which symbolise the name of the municipality, Lahr can be derived from to de Laen, meaning near the woods.
